Q: Where is the fuel filter on a 2002 Toyota 4Runner?
Where is the fuel filter located on a 2002 Toyota 4Runner? I cannot seem to find it and the owners manual is no help of course. Also, is it easy to replace? Also, if it makes any difference, the 4Runner is the TRD edition with the super charger. Any relevant help will be appreciated. Thanks-

A: Fuel Line. Check the fuel lines from the fuel tank all the way up to the motor until it is located.

Q: Is the automatic transmission from a 1997 Toyota 4runner compatible with a 2002 4runner?
I have a 2002 Toyota 4runner V6 4x4 and the transmission is nuked. I have a handle on a 1997 4Runner V6 4X4 with an auto trans. I just want to know if the two are cross compatible before I tear into them.

Q: How hard is it to find a 4 cylinder, 4 wheel drive, toyota 4runner with an automatic transmission?
Im trying to look for a 1990-93 or 1996-2000 4runner with a 4cyl, 4 wheel drive, automatic. The reason i am looking for a 4cyl instead of a V6 becuase the V6 uses more gas than a 4 cylinder. I want a fuel efficient automatic transmission and reliable off road veichle. It seems that its so hard to find a toyota 4runner used like this. All of the used 4runners i see for sale are V6. V6=gas guzzler

A: They don't make the 4runner with a 4 cylinder only a V6 or V8.

I have a Toyota 4runner, that would not pick up fast whenever am trying to accelerate(maybe from a light stop). What might be wrong g and the mileage on the car is 64,000. Do I need to check the timers belt, the tune-up or do the 60,000 mile servicing for the car.

A: You can start with a tune up. Doing the recommended service is always good.

Q: how much would it cost to replace alternator in Toyota 4Runner?
i recently changed my car battery and it was drained overnight. i have already checked the fuses and they were all okay, and was wondering if the alternator is the one that is causing the problem. how much does it cost to replace the alternator in my Toyota 4Runner? i would appriciate any help.

A: a bad alternator will not cause your battery to drained overnight. if your battery is new and dead the very next morning, could be that you have a parasitic draw. meaning there is something that is staying on, like a bulb, that should not be. a charging test will tell you if your alternator is bad. to do either of these tests you will need a DMM (digital multimeter). to test for parasitic draw: disconnect the negative battery cable. set your DMM to amps. place one lead to the negative cable end, and the other to the negative battery terminal. if you get more than about 37 mili amps, you have a parasitic draw somewhere. start disconnecting stuff to see if it goes away. when it does, that is the system with your draw. to test your alternator: preferably a hand held starting/charging tester is the way to test your alternator. but if you don't have one, you can try with the DMM. with the engine running, turn all accessories on (radio, A/C, lights), place your red lead of the DMM to the positive battery terminal and the negative lead to the negative battery terminal. you should get around 13-14volts. if it's around 11 or 12 or under, your alternator is probably bad. good luck!
