Q: Would it be feasible/practical to put either 31" or 33" all-terrain tires on a new 2010 Toyota 4runner?
So I see that the new 4runner has a "trail" edition, but the tires on it look wimpy. How well would this truck accommodate a 33" tire, and would the dealership install them?
A: The Trail Edition is sick.
Of course the "All-Terrain" Tires you are talking about would be a waste of money because they would offer so little off-road performance. If you really want to get some good tires. Get some KM2 BFG Mud Terrains. They will slap some All Terrains around like a little kid.
I doubt 33's will fit. 32's maybe. 31's for sure. The dealer will install them, of course it's gonna cost you. I would go to a tire place instead. Save yourself a few bucks.
Q: Is there any car dealer in Malaysia that sell Toyota 4Runner 2010?
Hi, would like to ask is there any car dealer that sell/import the new Toyota 4Runner Trail version? Does the car allowed to be imported in Malaysia? Thanks.
A: Well, firstly, would you like a US spec-4Runner, or a Japan spec, which is practically sold in other parts of the world as the Toyota Hilux Surf? In Malaysia, though, the Toyota Fortuner would work as a great alternative.
Q: 2010 Toyota 4Runner Rear End Spin-out Video?
Does anyone have a link to the video of the 2010 Toyota 4Runner spinning out over and over again on the news this morning? It showed that once the driver let off the accelerator during a turn, the rear end would just let go and spin around.
Thanks Everyone!
A: Actually that was a LEXUS G460 SUV. And just about any rear wheel drive top heavy vehicle will do the same thing if you push it too hard into a corner.
That video is no surprise to anyone that has explored the handling limitations of an SUV. In a severe cornering scenario the front end understeers and digs into the pavement causing the lighter loaded rear end to swing around. Simple physics, really. So now Toyota is going to take even more flak because they didn't design an off road vehicle to be a race car. Only in America can people be so naive as to believe that a 4x4 vehicle has the same handling dynamics as a car.
This is the VIDEO;

Q: anyone know of a dealership that has a 2010 toyota 4runner with a 3rd row seat in stock?
A: Would help if you stated where you live so that others and I can check the local inventory.
Q: 2010 Toyota 4Runner VS. 2010 GMC Acadia?
2010 Toyota 4Runner VS. 2010 GMC Acadia
A: Both are great cars you test drive them both.
the 4runner are great offroaders but are not as comfortable as the arcadia.
the 4runner has rugged tires which is rough on streets. the arcadia won't have the re-sale value as the toyota but its pretty durable.
My pick is the Toyota 4Runner
Q: 2010 Toyota 4Runner? Would it be a good car for me?
I would like a 3rd row seat and I need 4WD or AWD. I am a single mom with 3 children. What do you think? do you have any other suggestions also?
A: yes perfect car---my aunt has one in fact the 2003 one and she has had no problems. reliable car really.
Q: Tires for 2010 4runner SR5.?
The factory tire size on the 2010 Toyota 4runner SR5 is P265/70 R17 and I am wondering if the BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A will fit. They make a size LT265/70 R17 and I see the only difference in the sizes are the first letters in the tire size. I have no idea what they mean. I also noticed that the BF Goodrich tire have two of the same sizes. LT265/70 R17/C and LT 265/70 R17/E. Please help clear this up for me. Thanks for the help.
A: Yeah it will work. The P stands for passenger and the LT means light truck. The LT has a more aggressive tread pattern. The C and E stand for load range. The C means 6 ply and runs 50 psi and E means 10 ply and can run 80 psi. I would go with the C. Check out these links. The first one should explain everything, but just wanted to add the second link to maybe help you see what they mean about aspect ratio.

Q: Why are cars named one year in advanced?
A 2010 Toyota 4runner car comes out in 2009...isnt it misleading?
A: Misleading but barely, the cars are released in Sept to catch the new car sales of the the school year.
Q: Honda Pilot vs. Toyota 4Runner, Which one?
My family is buying a new SUV and they can't decide which one to get. Which one is better, like gas, room, storage space, safety? Oh and they're new 2010 models so...ya.
A: They are both great, and are so similar in quality that your family should test drive both and go with the one they like better. One may have a few certain features that are more important to you specifically.
Besides that, you are only going to get personal opinions on here. One person saying their aunt has a Pilot and loves it, someone else saying that Toyota is the only way to go, etc.
But, from personal experience my father had a 2000 Toyota 4Runner that he just recently traded in when it got to 250,000 miles. In the 1/4 million miles, and 11 years of driving it, he had no problems with it, and didnt put any money into it outside of scheduled routine maintenance.
On the other hand, my mother had a 98 Honda CRV that she drove for just over 200,000 miles with absolutely no problems, and she sometimes went 10,000 miles before she remembered to change her oil.
So both car companies are known for making great cars, in my opinion the Toyota is a little better built, but the Pilot is more comfortable.
Q: Prototype car models (after auto shows)?
Can a prototype car model be sold? I wonder what they do with them, after using them for test and displays at auto shows?
heres a prototype redesigned 2010 Toyota 4runner
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNBvwz7MAPM
A: The short answer is "No."
Most prototypes and concept cars haven't been through emissions and safety testing and certification, so they can never be registered for use on public roads. Furthermore, the legal liability for the manufacturer if such a car was ever involved in an accident would be so huge that there's just no way they're going to let one get into the hands of the general public.
Some concept cars wind up in museum-like displays that manufacturers set up to showcase their corporate histories, but many are dismantled and destroyed.
It hasn't always been like this. Back in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, there were a few legendary show-cars which managed to escape the crusher and wound up in the hands of private collectors, but even those cases are pretty rare.
Q: Need a new family vehicle to fit our growing family of 5?
Everyone says to go with a minivan, but I am really not ready to go from my Nissan Altima which is perfect for our family of 4 to the monster.
If we were to get a minivan, we would get a Toyota Sienna with the 8-passenger seating so that we can have all 3 kids (all of whom are 4 and under) in one row.
I really love the Toyota Venza though, and it should fit 3 carseats in the second row and has a decent amount of cargo room, more than the Altima, but not as much as the Sienna. If need arises in the future, we would sell my husband's truck and upgrade to the dreaded minivan.
Another option is the new 2010 Toyota 4Runner which has a new 3rd row. We also have the option for 3 carseats in the middle, but no captains chairs like we could even with the 8-passenger Sienna.
My question is what would you do? Our third baby is due next month and so we are going to need the room very soon!
A: I would honestly just go all in for the minivan! I am contemplating getting one for a third family car just because they're very convenient with small children. The Sienna is my favorite as well in the category due to it's family-friendly options like the removable second row middle seat that you mentioned. With only the need for the two rows, there is an exceptional amount of cargo that surpasses that of any of the others that you have listed. Plus if you plan on having future children, your husband won't have to part with his truck.
Q: Yellow dust on my tires. Is this sulfer from the cats rotten egg smell?
My brand spanking new 2010 Toyota 4Runner emits a rotten egg smell from the exhaust. I noticed that the rear tire near the exhaust pipe has a tan/yellowish coating of dust while the other three tires show traces of that tan dust. There is no tan dust visible on the undercarriage or body or on or near the exhaust pipe. I am aware that there is a vacuum at the rear of the vehicle as it is in motion. The smell is much worse when the rear window is open slightly or all the way. Toyota denies that there is anything wrong with the vehicle. I would have been better off buying a model with a stuck accelerator pedal. At least that would have been repaired. Any recommendations?
A: If you are getting fumes of any kind in the cabin from an open or partial open window, there is definitely a problem. Before you die from carbon monoxide poisoning, take it through a state or provincial inspection station and get that checked. Next return to the dealer and say fix it or refund me and then if no response..see you guys and Toyota in court. Not such an "oh what a feeling now" is it? They're getting just as much junk on the market now as GM and Chrysler had. Buy domestic man don't buy hype. good luck
Q: keep the BMW or new Nissan Altima?
Right now I have a 2005 BMW 325i that we got used and its pushing 80,000 miles with no type of warranty. My brother is getting his license soon so my parents are going to have to get a new car anyway. Since I'll be starting college in the fall and will be driving back and forth about and hour and a half on some weekends my parents want to give the BMW to my brother since he'll still be driving locally for 2 more years and give me the new car with the warranty. My number one choice was a Toyota 4runner but its way too impractical with the gas mileage and insurance costs of an SUV. It would also have to be used because I don't like the new ones. Today I test drove a 2010 Honda Accord EX-L and Nissan Altima 3.5SR. Hands down I liked the Nissan much better than the Honda because the transmission was much smoother. The Nissan also came with great packages and was really nice. Here comes the decision time. My parents said that if I REALLY want to keep the BMW I can. I just don't know what to do because as far as luxury goes the Altima definitely has the BMW beat. My 325 is the most basic version and doesnt have the real leather seats or anything. Its mostly the BMW name that people freak out over. The main thing that I'll miss about it is the sportiness I guess. I know thats not what I need to be basing my decision on but its just that you don't really expect to see a teenage guy driving a car like this Altima and these types of sedans have always seemed more business and adult/family like. I kind of want something I can have a little fun in which is why I wanted the 4runner but I guess its just not practical. I keep going back and forth in my mind but everytime I see the Altima I fall in love with it again because its so nice then I always end up second guessing myself. Another thing I have to think about is getting something reliable. We've had a couple problems with the BMW and its never a cheap fix. I hope this all makes sense I was just wondering what yall thought.
A: Get the Nissan Altima for sure. The BMW has 80,000 miles on it; it's not going to last too much longer. BMWs are not Mercedes or Ferraris; they wear out and die off like all other cars. Since you have a basic 2005 BMW 325i, its performance is really not one to brag about. Right now, since you're going to be behind the wheel for long periods of time, you really don't need a sporty car. What you need is a luxury car, to make those miles seem less tedious. The base performance behind that Nissan Altima SR (which btw is the Altima's best trim) is decent 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine that produces 175 horsepower and 180 lb-ft. of torque and nets 23 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. Personally, I suggest the more powerful 3.5-liter V6 or a 2.5-liter gas/electric hybrid that makes 158 horsepower and 162 lb-ft. of torque which also manages to get 35 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. The numbers are pretty good compared your 2005 BMW 325i. The Nissan may not win in a race with the BMW, but at least the driver will come comfortably to the finish line (cuz of all of the luxury). And just to point out: in a race, the Nissan won't be very far from the BMW. ;)
Q: What car should i choose?
What car should i choose??, i have a new 2010 toyota tundra but dmn they spend a lot of gasoline, so i was thinking to change it but i don't know for what, i would like to choose between a 4Runner or a Sienna, because we are a big family of 7, so they have enough passengers, but we also have a ranch, so what should i choose, i already haded a 4Runner and they are marvelous. A sienna too, they are real comfortable, i liked it so much, but they were too low for me. And we haded a Tundre too, but this one, wow is real big, CrewMax and everything, but damn gas. So what should i do???
A: Was the Tundra a 5 or 6 seater?
Maybe a crew cab Tacoma?
