Q: Toyota Yaris?
I just bought a Toyota Yaris sedan with the power package and everything. The only thing is that it didnt come with keyless entry which I got installed from a third party. Does anyone else love their Yaris as much as I do? And I love my Yaris! Has anyone had any problems with theirs?
A: I am driving a Yaris which has done 100000 kms in 9 months without any problems ( we use it on a courier run in Melbourne, Australia). The only quibble I have is that at freeway speeds (100 kph) there is not much power left for rapid acceleration.
However, I'm sure you'll be happy with your Yaris for as long as you have it.

A: Yep.
It doesn't have some of the features that the other Models do like the Corolla and Camry. But it's cheap and gets great gas mileage.
You'll be quite happy with it.
It should hold it's value fairly well, as these things go. All cars lose value over time. But if you want to trade it in you'll get a better price for it than any Hyundai.

Hello, I am wondering if the immobilizer system is a necessary part of running a car. I made the mistake of getting a Toyota Yaris with the immobilizer standard/smart key, and I am wondering if the immobilizer system can be removed/deactivated, so that I can get another spare key if I am on the road and the master key isn't directly available.
A: Two keys and your car programed for them will be cheaper then immobiliser removal.

Q: How do you like your Toyota Yaris?
I am looking for a new car, I was looking into the Toyota Yaris. I just really want the opinion of what the drive is like on a highway from someone who now owns, or has owned one in the past. Any other major pros and cons you would like to add would be great!
A: well in highway it will be a little noisy as any car with small engine it cruises with the rpm around 3000 but its fun and quick, the spedometer is in the middle it will take u a couple of days to get used to it. i don't own one but a rent alot and i always ask for it. personaly i like the design and in my opinion it has the best cup holder ever in right place.
Q: Whats better for a new driver VW Polo or Toyota Yaris?
I am thinking about getting my first car and have decided between a VW Polo or a Toyota Yaris both 1998 - 2001, and was wondering which one of the two people would reccomend. I want cheap and reliable.
A: oh, if you find a decent yaris GLS or T spirt they will be good spec (AC, cd ect) and its very good on fuel. Try and find a 1.3 if u can they have good power and still give 48mpg. Polo is really basic and not as good. Yaris is perfect

A: I don't know where Alan gets his info, but Consumer Reports says quite the opposite. Toyotas are very reliable and safe cars. Not as safe as Subarus, but up there :-)
As for the Yaris not being a highway car, I beg to differ. We ended up buying a Honda Fit, but one of the folks we used to carpool (65 miles one-way, 65MPH desert highways) with had a Yaris, and they are fairly comparable, including engine power (106HP vs 117HP, big whoop). The Fit has harder "sportier" suspension (which maybe why so many folks think it has more power), more trunk room, and has better rear-seat versatility. Yaris has better instrument console (although I hate it being in the middle of the dash), better MPG. The Scion xD is essentially a sportier Yaris, comparable trunk, and has a normally placed instrument panel, so you may want to look at the xD, too.
If you are considering a sedan, I would agree the other answerer that said go for the Corolla. We've had our Fit for about a year, and I dearly wish I hadn't been taken in by the "sporty" suspension. The Corolla has a much better suspension that either Yaris or Fit, and a quieter interior. Of course, if you want the hatchback, then Corolla won't work...

A: You might be able to, if you take off both the front and rear wheels on the bicycle. (Hopefully your bicycle has quick-releases for your front and back wheels.)
Keep in mind however you should have a tarpaulin of some sort to keep the tire dirt and chain grease off your upholstry, and that if your bike is a particularly heavy one (such as one of those heavy 40-pound mountain bikes), it may be a chore to maneuver the frame into your boot.

A: The Honda Fit is highly rated by Consumer Reports. It scores well on mileage economy, handling, safety and reliability. The Yaris is fine but not as highly rated. Other cars you may want to consider include the Corolla, Civic, and Ford Focus. If you buy new, get the report from Consumer Reports to show what the dealer paid for the car so you can bargain up from his costs rather than down from sticker price. Never pay sticker price on a new car. If you buy used, check out autotrader.com for cars in your area.
